10 Paise coins were very common in the ’80s and ’90s but these 10 Paise is a currency that is almost obsolete from the Indian market. These new 10 paise coins were small in size and also the weight of these coins was a bit smaller than the previous ones. Previous aluminum coins where have 2.3 grams in weight but now the weight was reduced to 1.76 g. Earlier aluminum coins were 25.9mm and now these new coins have a diameter of 23.03 mm

Design

The coin has an Ashoka pillar with Satyamev Jayate written on the obverse side Bharat and India is also written side by side.The reverse side of the coin has written 10 Paisa in the middle. The bottom of the coin has the minting year with the mintmark.
These coins were minted in Calcutta Hyderabad and Bombay mints.
